It's been slightly over a month since we entered the Amamake Training Grounds, and a lot has been learned in this period. Many of our members have achieved outlaw status, and several are racing towards the ever elusive 'perfect -10' on the EVE-Scale of Evilness.
We have learned a lot in this period. To point out a few lessons:
- Engaged all shiptypes in EVE (Titan, Mothership and Dread excepted).
- How to avoid gatecamps by using the map.
- The last 15km to a gate or station is a huge distance when you become an outlaw or when at war. Insta's are your friend.
- The Idealism of accepting very young players (<14 days) is met with the Realism of spies.
- Safespot's aren't allways safe. Make sure to hop around.
- Punisher doesnt tank sentries well. Neither does the Incursus, Celestis and Tristan. As I personally tested this extensively, it leads to the following conclusion: Either, A: I need to stop drinking while flying, or B: NERF SENTRY GUNS!.
Still, it's time to move on before we start collecting doubles in our corpse collection.
Special thanks goes to:
- Our 'Mains' in Veto
, for all the fun fights;
- S******dly, for showing how to set up a nice gatecamp (though in hindsight, having a closer look to see how it's organised might not have been the brightest move
)
- Derran, for letting us have a look at his Carrier (Fighters follow you in warp
)
- Mangold, for demonstrating safe-spots aren't.
- Beer & Kebabs, for being the most friendly and loveable bunch of Pirates this side of the EVE-Gate
.
I'll leave you all with the words of 'The King' for now, assuming the Jovians brought him over before closing the EVE-Gate:
Maybe I didn't treat you Quite as good as I should have Maybe I didn't pod you Quite as often as I could have LittleTerror I should have whacked and done I just never took the time
Amamake on my mind Amamake on my mind
Maybe I didn't drop good loot In all those happy, funny fights If so I guess it was just cheap goods But I loved them, they were mine If I make you feel second best System, we are leaving you behind
Amamake on my mind Amamake on my mind
Tell me, tell me that your obsolete clone didnĘt die Give us, give us this one chance To say to you goodbye, goodbye
Feel free to visit us in our new temporary haunt, and who know, we might be back later .
